dr Piotr Steinbrich: Integrating the skills has been central to foreign language teaching since the beginning of the communicative approach. For the last ten years or so, however, we observe a new trend where particular lessons are labelled ‘grammar’, ‘vocabulary’, ‘reading’, etc, which clearly suggests the deviation from the integrated skills model. In this webinar I will address this issue and show that a good lesson is the one in which activities have to refer to various skills and subskills in an integrated manner. As always, I will try to make it as practical as it gets so that teachers can try out the ideas from the webinar in their own teaching contexts.
